Challenges and Opportunities of mmWave for 5G Mobile Radio

Recent developments of standardization of fifth generation (5G) wireless systems, extends the operation of communication systems into new frequency bands at mm-wave regime. Naturally, this poses new challenges on realization of highly integrated transceivers for mobile radios. But it also offers new opportunities due to a very large available bandwidth and achievable data-rates. Hence, in this talk I will address both challenges and opportunities of the 5G with regard to realization of transceiver front-end at mm-wave frequencies for mobile radios.
