At mm-wave frequencies packaging is the major limiting factor for mass products since semiconductor technologies became widely available. The main electrical challenge thereby are the signal interconnects which become hard to realize at very high frequencies. An alternative is to integrate the antennas into the package together with the IC which eliminates the need for mm-wave connections out of the package. In the presentation many different concepts are presented and discussed in detail.
