Novel solutions for the synthesis and practical design of waveguide filters and multiplexers for space applications
Space applications require very restrictive specifications in terms of size and mass for typical payloads. However, waveguide technology is widely used despite the bulky structures obtained in classical designs because its power handling capability. Very recently, novel solutions are arising in the synthesis and design of waveguide filters, multiplexers or ancillary devices with more advanced responses and/or performances, but keeping compactness as the main driving motivation. In this talk, new solutions for the design and optimization of waveguide filters and multiplexers will be shown. These solutions will provide advances in two research lines: ease of design of typical structures and new structures with advances responses. Additionally, the procedures for designing, optimizing or tuning these new compact solutions will be also shown in detail.
