MEMS & PCM Switches for Reconfigurable Millimeter-wave Circuits

The need for high isolation and low loss RF switches has driven the development of new technologies like MEMS switches and PCM materials for RF. After a brief introduction on RF switches basics, the presentation will cover present developments on thin film packaged switched varactors for millimeter wave tuning with several examples of Ka-Band tunable circuits. In a second part, the talk will cover the latest developments on PCM bi-stable circuits using thermal and optical control.
