Undersampling Based Wideband and Low-complexity Digital Pre-distortion System for 5G

Wider observation bandwidth and lower power consumption are perhaps two most challenging technical demands on the digital pre-distortion (DPD) system. The undersampling DPD technique aims to relieve the requirement of the sampling rate of ADCs and the computation complexity of the coefficients estimation, backed up by a new information theory of the behavioural modelling. A continued 4 GHz observation bandwidth was achieved recently using a single 76.8 MSPS ADC without the IF stage. Meanwhile, the number of training samples and the computation complexity of the coefficients estimation can be further reduced using the new information theory. Hence, this talk will introduce the theory, applications and some latest test results of the undersampling DPD technique for the wideband and multi-band transmitters.
