An Efficient Technique for Tuning and Design of Wideband Filters
This paper introduces a new technique for use in filter design and tuning. This new method is applicable to both narrow band and wideband filters. It is particularly useful for wideband filters where most available techniques fail to yield accurate results. Compared to conventional methods, this new method requires less computation time, and provides a clear step by step procedure for identifying the proper inter-resonator couplings and the resonant frequencies of the resonators. A wide band CPW bandpass filter with a 72% bandwidth was designed, fabricated and tested to illustrate the implementation of the proposed technique.
