Dually-Polarized Hybrid Junction Based on Polarization-Selective Periodic Wall
A planar 3dB coupler featuring dual-polarization is presented based on a fused coupler and a mechanism of polarization selectivity. The polarization selectivity is illustrated through a periodic PEC wall. A full theoretical analysis is introduced for the design of a dually-polarized hybrid junction without using any optimization techniques. The introduced concept opens the doors for implementing any dual-polarization microwave component based on the polarization selectivity. A prototype is implemented at 30 GHz and showed an excellent agreement between both simulation and measurement results.
