With new semiconductor technologies (like SiGe BiCMOS) a dramatic increase in integration of different functionalities onto one MMIC is possible. This is the enabler for new antenna concepts like AESA panel arrays even at high frequencies like Ka-band. In this presentation we will show the development of a modular scalable panel array for SatCom-on-the-Move applications at Ka/K-band. Besides the new MMIC technology also a new packaging and cooling technology is introduced in the frame of this development.
