Load Modulation Techniques for Efficient Power Amplifiers

Load modulation of power amplifiers (PAs) is an effective technique for efficiency enhancement at output power back-off. This talk will give an overview the motivations for and advantages of load modulation techniques and briefly describe PA design for dynamic load modulation. Then, emerging techniques in load modulated PAs will be discussed, including outphasing PAs and the load modulated balanced amplifier.
