Smart Powering of Wearable and Eco-Compatible Tags

In this talk some recent solutions of wearable and eco-compatible rectennas/tags are discussed, focusing on the main issues related to the un-conventional adopted substrates, i.e. common pile and paper. However, the main goal of the talk is to illustrate a smart technique for wirelessly powering the tags: it relies on the use of time modulation of the excitations of the array adopted both as a reader and as an RF shower. The additional presence of time as design parameter provides a versatile and reconfigurable (in almost real-time) radiating system: the fully exploitation of the sideband radiation phenomenon allows to localize the tags, even in crowded and electromagnetic harsh scenarios, and then to precisely send the power in the previously selected directions, only.
