Challenges in WLAN Front End Modules Designs Supporting the Proposed 802.11ax Standard
The new 802.11ax standard brings some noteworthy benefits to WLAN, and some significant challenges to FEM and PA design. In this talk, we review the key features of 802.11ax, and discuss the challenges that these features impose on high performance FEM design. The addition of 1024QAM as a mandatory modulation has the most significant immediate impact on required linearity, but there are other more subtle changes that also affect module design. We will discuss the impact of the major 11ax features on FEM design, and will illustrate how our modules meet 802.11ax requirements.
